Students explore the relationship between force, time, and impulse.
They first study a graph of the force applied to an object over a period of time. They vary the force and time interval and observe the effects.
Then, they calculate the total impulse on the object using the integral measurement tool.
Finally, they explore a simulation of a person in a car collision. They vary the time interval over which the person decelerates and determine the total force acting on her body under different conditions.
