STEM Sustainability
At the beginning of the 20th century there were just 12 cities with a population exceeding one million people. At the beginning of the 21st century there were almost 500 such cities. We can no longer consume resources at the same rate as our predecessors. Whether you’re a climate change sceptic or not, fossil fuels are finite, so they will run out. Sustainability is about meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. Actions to improve sustainability are individual and collective; we’re all in this together so let's design, build and test solutions for a sustainable future.
When does 1 + 1 + 1 = 1? Single use disposable water bottles can use three litres of water to produce just one litre of consumable product and impact the environment in many more negative ways. Do the maths, single use water bottles just don't add up.
