Students use measuring tools and calculators to make half-sized drawings of themselves.

During the Activity

Distribute the page to the class.

Follow the activity procedures:

Work in pairs

Using butcher paper make a life-size tracing of your partner's body

Identify the body measurements that need to be taken, record the values, and translate measurements into half-size versions

Create a half-sized version of the tracing

Use details like facial features and clothes in the drawing

Discuss strategies used

After the Activity

Review student results

As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging

Re-teach concepts as necessary
