Inserting a matrix

Follow these steps for inserting a matrix and using reduced row echelon form:

  • Press and .

  • Type in your first set of numbers separating each number by a comma.

  • After each set of numbers is entered, insert a semicolon by clicking .
    Then press .

    Scroll using the navigation pad and select the semicolon using the center click key in the middle of the navigation pad.

    Enter the next row of variables separating each variable by a comma.

  • If you wanted to solve for 3 variables used in 3 equations, simply use a 3 by 4 matrix by entering the first set of 4 numbers separated by commas.

    Then insert a semicolon and start the next set of numbers.

  • Once the variables are entered, press .

  • Now press menu, select Matrix and Vector, and finally select Reduced row-echelon form.

  • Press and . Now press .

Follow along with this example for inserting a matrix and using reduced row echelon form:

  • Solve for x and y using the equations 1x + 2 y = 3 and 6x + 3y = 4.

  • Press ctrl and then the open parenthesis key, .

  • Enter into the calculator. Press enter.

  • Press menu. Select Matrix and Vector. Selected Reduced Row-Echelon form.

  • Press ctrl and . Press enter.



  • x=-1; y =2
