Linking a Lists & Spreadsheet Cell or Column to a Variable
When you link a cell or column to a variable, Lists & Spreadsheet updates the values to reflect the current value of the variable. The variable can be any variable in the current problem and can be defined in Graphs, Geometry, Calculator, or any instance of Lists & Spreadsheet.
Notes:
| • | You cannot link to the same variable multiple times on the same page. |
| • | Do not link a cell to a system variable. Doing so could prevent the variable from being updated by the system. System variables include ans, StatMatrix, and statistics results (such as RegEqn, dfError, and Resid). |
| 1. | In a Lists & Spreadsheet page, tap the cell that you want to link to a variable. This should be an empty cell and the cell cannot be in a list that is already defined as a variable. |
| 2. | Tap the cell again to open the context menu. |
| 3. | Tap Link. |
| 4. | Tap the name of the variable to insert it into the cell. |
The value of the variable is displayed in the cell.
To view or edit values in a list variable, link a column to the list variable. The list can be any shared list in the current problem and can be defined in Graphs, Geometry, Calculator, or any instance of Lists & Spreadsheet.
After you link a column to a list, changes you make to the list in other applications are automatically updated in Lists & Spreadsheet.
| 1. | Tap the column formula cell (the second cell from the top) that you want to link to a variable. |
| 2. | Type the name of the list variable that you want to link to, and then tap return. |
