Middle Grades Math

Functions

In this unit, students will define, evaluate and compare functions and use them to model relationships between quantities. Students will understand that a function is a rule that assigns each input exactly one output and that the graph of a function is the set of these ordered pairs. Students will construct a function to model a linear relationship between two quantities and determine the function rule that is represented by the graph.

This unit was developed from the Common Core State Standards. For more information download the unit guide (on the right) where the specific content standard is identified. There may be other CCSS that align to the activities as well that are not referenced on the guide.
