Exploring Common Core Topics in Middle Grades Algebra with TI-Nspire™ Apps for iPad^®

Designed for educators who need support transitioning to Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Mathematics in middle grades mathematics, this workshop covers the basic features of TI-Nspire™ Apps for iPad® and TI-Nspire™ Teacher Software, with an emphasis on new Common Core algebra standards across sixth, seventh and eighth grades.

You’ll explore dynamic, interactive TI-Nspire™ lessons aligned to key CCSS algebra standards, while building pedagogical skills for leading discussions and engaging students in the Common Core State Standards for Mathematical Practice. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to use TI-Nspire™ technology to deepen student understanding of key CCSS topics in middle grades algebra.

Overview

This in-person workshop is available in one-, two- and three-day options to accommodate educator-specific needs. A half-day workshop option is also available. The two- and three-day workshops offer a more extensive exploration of topics. A virtual workshop is also available in multiple two- or three-hour sessions.

	Coverage of key CCSS domains, including expressions, equations and functions. Introduction to Common Core Math Practices. Overview of essential technology skills, including graphing functions and modeling with multiple representations.
	Additional exploration of interactive content, with the integration of geometry, statistics, and probability. Broader subject coverage, with opportunities for differentiation based on teacher needs. Introduction to Teacher Software, with the integration of geometry, statistics and probability.
	Deeper discussions of classroom applications and how TI-Nspire™ Apps for iPad® can support CCSS Math Practices. Algebraic modeling using the built-in iPad® camera and images inserted into TI-Nspire™ documents. Additional opportunities for differentiation based on classroom needs.
