Who should attend:
| Those who desire to learn more about the features of the TI-84 Plus to assist them in covering topics in geometry.
TI Educational Technology used:
| | TI-84 Plus or TI-83 Plus |
| | TI-84 Plus Silver Edition or TI-83 Plus Silver Edition |
Objectives:
| | Use technology to explore and investigate modes of teaching geometry. |
| | Experience problem solving situations that take advantage of the exploration/investigation mode of classroom interaction |
| | Work through classroom ready activities that use graphing calculators to enhance students’ understanding and problem solving ability |
| | Develop teachers’ familiarity with the TI-84 Plus and the Cabri Jr. app through hands-on explorations modeling effective classroom use of technology |

Facilities Requirements:
| Classroom with chalkboard or white board. Although a computer lab is not needed for this institute, the instructor might want to discuss with the organizer the lab’s availability for TI Connectivity and Internet use.
Materials List:
The Organizer
The following is a list of equipment and materials that the organizer must provide:
| | High-intensity overhead projector with spare bulbs. |
| | Overhead pens, supply of blank transparency sheets, dry-erase markers for white board if that type of board is used in the classroom, or chalk and erasers for a chalkboard. |
| | Name tags for participants |
| | An LCD projector and screen for use with a laptop computer, TI Presenter and/or TI Smartview. |
| | The instructor may need the organizer to request that participants bring copies of their textbooks so they can plan where technology can best be incorporated into their lesson plans. |
The T³ Office
The T³ Office will provide enough copies of:
Cabri™ Jr.: Interactive Geometry Activities and Investigations
Author(s) - Charles Vonder Embse and Eugene Olmstead
The instructor will need to arrange with Texas Instruments Workshop Loan Program
(1-888-917-6411) to provide:
| | 30 TI-84 Plus calculators with the latest version of Cabri Jr. |
| | One TI-84 Plus ViewScreen™ overhead panel with DC power adapter. |
| | Small supply of batteries for the TI-84 Plus calculators. |
| | Supply of TI Connectivity cables. |
| | If desired, TI Presenter. |
| | If desired, TI Navigator. |
