Exploring with the TI-89 Titanium

Who should attend:
Those who desire to learn more about the features of the TI-89 Titanium to assist them in covering topics in high school mathematics.

Objectives:
Use technology to explore and investigate modes of teaching secondary school mathematics
Experience problem solving situations that take advantage of the exploration/investigation mode of classroom interaction
Work through classroom ready activities that use graphing calculators to enhance students’ understanding and problem solving ability
Develop teachers’ familiarity with the TI-89 Titanium through hands-on explorations modeling effective classroom use of technology
Course Outline:

The main source of content for this course will be the activities from the Explorations books Advanced Placement Calculus with the TI-89 and Advanced Placement Statistics with the TI-89. These books will also be offered to participants of the institutes. These activities are classroom ready for teachers to implement right way!

Additional activities will be supplemented as determined by the instructor to suit the needs of the participants and the length of the institute. (3, 4 or 5 days)
