| • | Develop teachers’ familiarity with the TI-84 Plus through hands-on explorations modeling effective classroom use of technology |

Course Outline:
|
The main source of content for this course will be the activities from the Explorations book Activities for Algebra with the TI-83 Plus. This book will also be offered to participants of the institutes. These activities are classroom ready for teachers to implement right way!
Additional activities will be supplemented as determined by the instructor to suit the needs of the participants and the length of the institute (3 days). These could include various apps available on the TI-84 Plus and additional topics such as Calculus.

Facilities Requirements:

| Classroom with chalkboard or white board.Some of the labs will require access to water, ice and a microwave.
Although a computer lab is not needed for this institute, the instructor might want to discuss with the organizer the lab’s availability for TI Connectivity and Internet use.

| • | Overhead pens, supply of blank transparency sheets, dry-erase markers for white board if that type of board is used in the classroom, or chalk and erasers for a chalkboard. |
