T³™ Provides Quality Professional Development for Educators

School administrators from across the country share their thoughts on TI’s long-standing Teachers Teaching with Technology™ (T³) organization
"The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction actively looks for outstanding professional development opportunities that the Department can support to establish math leadership training. The T³ Online Algebra course is an excellent tool to promote for professional development for teachers."
-- Michael Kestner, former Senior Math Coordinator for the North Carolina Department of Instruction (taken from an interview with Ellen Hook, a former Educational Technology Consultant and the current Northeast Regional Field Director)
"T³ has played a very important part in staff development for the Chicago Mathematics, Science, and Technology Academy (CMSTA). Through T³, an effective cadre of teacher leaders has been trained. Now these teachers serve as mentors and instructors, sharing their knowledge of TI technology and its classroom applications with other teachers throughout our district. Today, thanks to T³ training, CMSTA is working hard to be considered a leader in training teachers in the use of handheld graphing technology. "
-- Anthony Scott, Director, CMSTA, Chicago Public Schools, Chicago, Illinois
"In 1996, the Nevada Technology Leadership Cohort Project launched a campaign to expand the use of calculator technology in math and science classrooms. T³ helped us get this program off the ground. Through T³, we've built a network of instructors to provide T³ training and other staff development activities to teachers across the state. Today, we've trained teachers in 80 percent of Nevada's school districts, and thousands of students across the state use TI technology to support their investigations and problem-solving activities in math and science. T³ has had an enormous impact on the teachers and students in our schools."
--James Brant, Mathematics Consultant, Nevada Department of Education, Carson City, Nevada
"The Arkansas School for Mathematics and Sciences has hosted T³ professional development institutes for nine years. To date, hundreds of teachers from Arkansas and surrounding states have attended our weeklong program. T³ has a strong reputation for providing high-quality institutes, and we rely on T³ for most of our secondary mathematics professional development. Teachers leave the T³ institutes with a new confidence that they will be successful using educational technology in their classroom. The effects of T³ on our teachers and classrooms have been positive and far-reaching."
-- Melanie Nichols, Chairman, Mathematics Department, Arkansas School for Mathematics and Sciences, Hot Springs, Arkansas
"I credit the T³ organization for its vision, ability and credibility in bridging the gap between technology-oriented companies, for example, TI and frontline elementary, middle, secondary and collegiate mathematics teachers. T³ has provided such teaching pioneers with an abundance training opportunities, rich discussion forums, and pedagogically sound instructional materials. The T³ impact on textbooks, technology and classroom instruction will be felt for years to come."
-- John Brunsting, Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning, Hinsdale Central High School, Hinsdale, Illinois
