Research on the TI MathForward™ Program

Research Basis
Conclusion:  Ten components of effective mathematics programs have been identified from previous research and confirmed by survey research.

University of Oregon
An interpretive review of research identified 10 components of effective mathematics programs. Subsequently, a survey of 828 teachers in 104 schools located in 18 school districts across three states - California, North Carolina, and Texas - confirmed the contribution of these 10 components. The components are:
Sound Administrative Practices
Aligned Curriculum
Ongoing Assessment and Planning
Immediate Intervention for Students Experiencing Difficulty Mastering Concepts
Increased and Effective Use of Instructional Time
Teacher Knowledge of Mathematics Content
Instructional Materials and Teaching Techniques
Differentiated Instruction
Focused Professional Development
