The TI-Navigator system creates a wireless classroom network of student calculators. The TI-Navigator allows teachers to quickly distribute, collect, aggregate, and assess curricular materials from all students simultaneously.

Objective: Teachers using the TI-Navigator will be able to easily share created educational documents, programs, or other activities electronically for instruction. These files may then be sent to or received from all students wirelessly in a matter of seconds. The goal of this course is to prepare teachers to use the TI-Navigator system and to introduce ways of incorporating the TI-Navigator into the mathematics curriculum to enrich instruction and extend students' comprehension.

In this online course teachers will learn how to:

Disseminate course materials quickly and easily
Send materials like lecture notes, lab data, quizzes and tests directly from the teacher's PC to students' TI handhelds. Then, retrieve completed work just as quickly and easily.

Obtain instant feedback
Receive students' work on the teacher's PC, where the TI-Navigator system auto-grades and saves material; immediate assessment reveals individual student comprehension and areas in need of reinforcement, or areas where re-teaching may be necessary.
Reveals answers from every student, not just the always-vocal ones; shy students are given a voice.

Note: There is no credit or certificate of completion available for the completion of this course.

Computer Requirements:

1024 x 768 monitor resolution. These movies are 680x580. A screen resolution of 1024x768 gives the best viewing size, but 800x600 works well, too.
Internet access (128kbs or better). Access using a broadband internet connection is best. These courses will work via a dial-up connection but will be slow.
Internet Explorer™ recommended
Macromedia Flash™ 7 Player (or later) (click here to download and install)
Note: For courses involving a TI-84 Plus graphing calculator, TI SmartView™ is used to show the calculator keyboard and screen displays. More information on the TI-SmartView presentation software package, click here.

Navigation Tips:
These movies work much like a VCR. Use the menu bar at the bottom of the screen to rewind, play, fast forward, pause and stop or use the status bar to move between sections.

The “Show Me” button takes the user step-by-step through the lesson. If you feel you are familiar with the material you may want to skip forward and use the “Let Me Try” feature to test your knowledge.
