Navigator Modules
Phases of the Moon This activity is designed to have students to interpret the graph of the percent of the moon showing over the days of a month. The activity will lead students to relate each phase of the moon to its location on a model of the data for any month. Concepts: interpreting graphs
Navigator usage: pre-assessment LC, collect, aggregate, and send lists, post-assessment LC
Sunrise Sunset This activity is designed to assess student understanding of hours of daylight per day over the course of the year. Students will be lead through a discussion of autumnal and vernal equinox and summer and winter solstice. Students will collect hours of daylight from an outside source. Using data collected by the students, the teacher will collate the class data, and use this data to analyze sinusoidal functions. Concepts: sinusoidal functions
