What is the TI-SmartView™ emulator?
TI-SmartView emulator software is an easy-to-use, effective demonstration tool for the classroom exploration of maths and science concepts. Based on the functionality of the popular TI-84 Plus family graphics calculators (and compatible with the TI-83 Plus family), TI-SmartView compliments classroom calculator use by projecting an interactive version of the calculator and offers many unique teaching capabilities.

Prices vary depending on the supplier. In general, the TI-SmartView emulator software for the TI-84 Plus family will cost not more than a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition ViewScreen Calculator (teacher unit).

Are multi-user or site license versions available?
Multi-user and site licenses are not available at present.

Is the TI-SmartView emulator available for student purchase?
The TI-SmartView emulator is only available to teachers.

What resources are available to support the integration of the TI-SmartView emulator?
The TI-SmartView emulator software includes more than 40 preloaded scripted activities (demonstrations) to help teachers increase their familiarity and comfort with the functionality of the graphics calculator - ideal for those just getting started with or expanding their use of graphics calculators.

Scripts will also be created to accompany several of the Explorations™ Series books created by TI. They will all be available in the Activities Exchange for download.

Can the TI-SmartView emulator be used with TI-83 and TI-83 Plus family graphics calculators?
Yes, TI-83 Plus, TI-83 Plus Silver Edition, TI-84 Plus and TI-84 Plus Silver Edition share the same functionality, so learners using any of these calculators will be able to follow along easily.

Will there be a TI-SmartView emulator available for other TI graphics calculators?

Will Computer Software Applications (Apps) work on the TI-SmartView emulator?
The TI-SmartView emulator comes preloaded with all the Apps on the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition. Other Apps, App Vars, Programs, and other data types can be loaded onto the TI-SmartView emulator.

What are the system requirements to successfully operate the TI-SmartView emulator?
TI-SmartView runs on PC and Mac platforms. The minimum required processor is 900 MHz.

Will the TI-SmartView emulator replace learners' graphics calculators?
While the TI-SmartView emulator software provides a very effective tool for the teacher, the portability and accessibility of the graphics calculator for learners and its approved use on many exams, continue to make it an essential tool for learner success.
