 Inspiring Maths in the Classroom
As part of the pilot research, teachers submitted lesson evaluations where they recorded the objectives and 'story' of the lesson, adding their own and their learners' comments as the lesson continued. Follow the links below to read case studies, based on a selection of lesson evaluations.

SSAT Maths & Computing Update
Cindy Hunt, Head of Mathematics at Davison School in Worthing contributed an article to the SSAT Maths & Computing Update, Autumn 2008, where she gives futher insight into her participation in the TI-Nspire pilot study, in addition to the case study above. The newsletter is available to teachers of maths and ICT in Specialist Schools and you can also download a copy below.

ICT in secondary mathematics: A pupil's entitlement
This document from BECTa includes case study exemplars that support wider access to hands-on ICT for learners in mathematics and provides information on the benefits of classroom use including:
- learning from feedback and observing patterns
- developing visual imagery
- exploring data
- 'teaching' the computer

Hard to Teach - Secondary Maths Using ICT
This Teachers' TV programme features a group of maths teachers using ICT to tackle three traditionally hard to teach topics with their learners. One of teachers from The Blue Coat School in Walsall (see case study above) uses TI-Nspire handheld devices with a Year 8 class to look at quadratic number sequences for the first time.

As part of a research project, this case study has been developed with the Mathematical Association and the Association of Teachers of Mathematics.
