Temperature Conversions
 


Activity Overview

Students will review the different temperature scales and use the List Editor to convert from one temperature scale to another.

Before the Activity

Students should have either TI-83 or TI-84 Plus calculator along with SciTool application. The attached .pdf form should be printed, copied and distributed to students.

During the Activity

Perform the procedures outlined in the printed .pdf form including the creation of list L1, L2 and L3. Students will learn how to explore unit conversion in temperature and answer the question of why scientists use different temperature scales in science.

After the Activity

  • Review student results
  • As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
  • Re-teach concepts a necessary
