Keynote Speaker
Dr. David A. Sousa is an international educational consultant and author on brain research, instructional skills and math and science education. Through his books and workshops, he helps educators, parents and school districts leverage brain research into strategies for improved learning.

Statistics Symposium (10:15 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.)
Day-long event featuring presentations and panel discussions on issues related to the teaching and learning of statistics and on topics that should be part of a statistics curricula focused on preparing students for a variety of future options. Presenters include George Cobb, Floyd Bullard, Tim Erickson and other speakers from both academia and industry.
An evening session will provide a hands-on workshop using materials from Statistics Nspired and the opportunity to talk with members of the Advanced Placement Test Development Team.

CAS Conference-in-a-Conference (8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.)
Day-long event focused on the use of Computer Algebra Systems (CAS) as a learning tool.
Co-hosted by the Chicago Math Educators Exploring Computer Algebra Systems (MEECAS) organization, this event will include over 40 sessions about the many opportunities to leverage CAS in all mathematical subjects. Presenters include Al Cuoco, Zalman Usiskin, Kathy Heid, Steve Arnold, Mike Thomas and others with a wide variety of perspectives on using CAS.
An evening event, the night before the CAS Conference-in-a-Conference, provides an opportunity to network and socialize with the speakers and CAS educators from around the world.
